eSIM vs Physical SIM
eSIM
Instant digital activation. Download your SIM profile by scanning a QR code — no physical card, no waiting. Requires an eSIM-compatible device (iPhone XR+, Pixel 3a+, Samsung Galaxy S20+).
Physical SIM
Traditional SIM card shipped free to your door. Arrives in 2-3 business days. Works with any unlocked, compatible GSM device.
Is Your Phone Unlocked?
An unlocked phone can work with any compatible carrier. Most phones purchased directly from the manufacturer are unlocked. If you bought yours through a carrier, it may be locked until your payment plan is complete.
How to check your lock status:
iPhone
Settings → General → About → look for “Carrier Lock.”
If it says “No SIM restrictions,” your phone is unlocked.
Android
Settings → Connections / Network → SIM manager (varies by brand).
You can also try inserting a SIM from another carrier to see if it connects.
Still not sure? Contact your current carrier and ask them to confirm your unlock status.
Keep Your Number
Transfer your existing phone number to USA Mobile during activation. The process is automatic and typically completes within minutes. You'll need your current account number and PIN from your previous carrier.
