Device Compatibility & Unlocking Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

1. BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Policy

USA Mobile operates as a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) service. We do not sell phones at this time.

To use USA Mobile services:

  • Your device must be unlocked

  • Your device must be compatible with the AT&T network

2. What is an Unlocked Phone

An unlocked phone is a device that is not restricted to a single carrier and can:

  • Accept SIM cards from different carriers

  • Support eSIM profiles from compatible networks

If your phone was purchased through a carrier, it may be locked to that carrier’s network.

3. If Your Phone is Financed

  • Devices that are still under financing agreements may not be eligible for unlocking

  • Most carriers require the device to be paid off in full before unlocking

  • You should contact your current carrier for their specific unlocking policy and timeline

4. How to Check Device Compatibility

To confirm your device can be used with USA Mobile:

  • Contact your current carrier to verify if your device is unlocked or eligible for unlocking

  • Use the USA Mobile compatibility checker to confirm support for required AT&T network bands

5. Future Device Sales

If USA Mobile offers devices for sale in the future:

  • A separate Device Unlocking Policy will be published

  • That policy will comply with applicable FCC regulations
